On behalf of Jordan,Dr. Khaled Elshuraydeh, Secretary General of the Higher Council for Science and Technology signed Implementation Agreement with Mrs. Christina Russo Director of International Cooperation for the Directorate General for Rights and Developmentas the representative of European Union, on Tuesday, December 11, at the EU headquarters in Brussels, Belgium; (PRIMA) for mutual cooperation under Article 2 of the Agreement on Scientific and Technological Cooperation between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the European Union which sets forth the conditions and provisions of the participation of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the Mediterranean Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean (PRIMA).

The initiative is the first of its kind to be based on the participation of non-EU member states, including Jordan, which are not linked to the European Framework Program (FP), as the same footing with EU Member States and associated countries.
