The Ambassador of the Republic of Panama, Mr. Thomas Garuda visited the Secretary-General of the Higher Council for Science and Technology (HCST), H.E. Khaled Elshuraydeh on 11/3/2019 at the Secretariat building of the Council.

The two sides discussed the ways of enhancing the bilateral cooperation in the fields of science, technology and innovation. Dr. Khaled Elshuraydeh gave a brief presentation on the vision, mission, duties and responsibilities of the Higher Council for Science and Technology through its centers and programs which act as an umbrella for all science, technological and innovation activities in the Kingdom. He also emphasized that the Jordanian foreign policy is keen to develop its relations with the friendly countries.

From his side, Mr. Garuda expressed the Embassy’s willingness to find opportunities of cooperation between the Higher Council and the scientific community in Panama for the benefit of exchanging expertise in the scientific fields. He mentioned that he will include HCST in the visit of the Vice president of the republic of Panama scheduled at the beginning of April 2019.

The two sides agreed on enhancing cooperation through the exchange of scientific and technological expertise, the implementation of joint workshops and research proposals of common interest and priority in both countries.
