Indusrtial Scientific Research and Development Support Fund ( IR&DF)
The Indusrtial Scientific Research and Development Support Fund ( IR&DF), affiliated with the Higher Council for Science and Technology, was established in 1994 with the aim of bridging the gap between industry and academia by providing support for joint research projects between universities and scientific centers on one hand and industry on the other. The fund seeks to enhance product efficiency, develop new products, improve production processes, and advance local technology to boost the competitiveness of the industrial sector. This is achieved through various programs designed to foster stronger collaboration between industry and academia, ultimately improving the sector's competitiveness by developing products and production processes, maximizing returns, increasing added value, creating new businesses, and generating employment opportunities. The Industrial Scientific Research and Development Fund ( IR&DF) is the only fund in Jordan that directly supports industrial development.
- Supporting national industries in leveraging science and technology to achieve qualitative advancements in production processes, industrial management, product quality and development, and improving the competitive capabilities of national industries.
- Encouraging national industries to invest in research and development and benefit from its outcomes.
- Creating favorable opportunities for universities, scientific research centers, and consulting firms to link their research and advisory activities with the needs of the industrial sector and the overall development process.
- Identifying challenges faced by various industries and guiding them in resolving these issues.
- Establishing strong connections between universities, scientific centers, government institutions, and the private sector with the industrial sector.
